There are several ways to integrate Helix DMS with your website and application. Here are a few of the integration methods:

• Direct Database Connection: This method is not highly recommended, but the database is easy enough to read that most developers can easily work with it. Since the Helix is built on top of SQL Server, it works great with Visual Studio.
• Soap API: This is only recommended over SSL. Each installation has a Soap API located at /api.asmx. An administrator username and password is required to use this API.
• Workflows: Workflows provide thier own integration method by allowing your application to connect to external applications.

Helix DMS is simply a web skin for building a user interface for SQL Server database. This allows developers to leverage the stack of technologies available with Windows Servers and ASP.Net to integrate their flavor Helix DMS.

Google Apps Integration

By importing the gApps.dms file into the Import/Export feature of the administration module, the Google Apps integration features of Helix DMS become available. One the gApps.dms has been imported, users can integrate their own Google Apps account with their DMS profile by going under the 'My Settings' link on the top toolbar of the DMS. 

Once a user has integrated Google Apps, every phone number record in the system will become a link capable of utilizing Google Voice. Clicking email addresses in records allows users to send out their Gmail, and Google Calendar becomes available in a number of ways in the DMS.
